Default CDWOW bullied into raising CD prices by BPI

What a great shame, I found CD Wow nicely priced and with good fast service.
From my estimates they got away with their prices because they do not pay
17.5% VAT, making the true cost slightly more expensive than the UK
Supermarkets where you do pay VAT. If they really do raise all their prices
by £2 to £10.99 I will just be forced to buy fewer CDs at my local
Superstore.
CD-WOW will not be able to keep their market unless they compete with local
supply I doubt that they will really add £2 to the current £8.99 cost. No
doubt the BPI will soon sue the Supermarkets for some trumped up reason to
make us pay more ! I still cannot understand why if it costs pennies to
create each CD and the artists get approx £1 per CD how they can claim that
the cost of a CD is justified ? Home copying exists because for about
£0.30 you can get a copy of a mates CD, many will then buy the CD if they
like it. Radio seems only to play singles and rarely bothers to announce
details of the artist and the track, no wonder free downloads are popular !
Few will gamble £10+ on a new CD they might not like. I have about 1000
Vinyl and 600 CDs, technically I do not have enough time to ever listen to
them all again from beginning to end I could just never bother to buy
another record !
Bullying your market is not usually a successful way to increase sales, it
does however encourage ways to beat the bullies !

Goodbye CD -Wow until your e-vouchers make you the best value again.

Regards Richard
