Default Introduction and Getting rid of rattles question!

Simon Burrows wrote:
Hi guys,

I've been told that maybe using fibreglass insulation or foam might
help solve the rattles... how would I use it, just pack any space
with it so the panels have nowhere to move?

A couple of low tech but effective solutions I've used in the past are
firstly to use blu-tac to stick down small plastic panels.
Secondly when I fitted some 6*8's in teh front doors of my Ka I suffered
really badly from the whole door trim vibrating against the metalwork so I
went to my local pound shop and bought 4 car cleaning sponges.
You know , the big yellow things....
Popped the door panels off and duct-taped sections of the sponge to the
metalwork wherever it was touching and rattling then re-attached the cards.
With the sponges in place the vibration was cut to nothing and it cost less
than a fiver :0)
