kenwood kmd 671R sound set-up

i recently purchased a kenwood kmd671r to replace my pioneer cd
player. The bass however does not sound as deep as my previous stereo
and the mid is not too good either. in the manual it states that when
the ec4/db (sound co-ordinate system) is on in the menu the following
controls appear in the audio menu- Bass frequency, bass quality, bass
extension and treble frequency. I have told the unit that i am running
6x9's by pressing the audio button when all off is displayed on the
screen.
i have tried for the past week to work out how to get these controls
to appear in the menu but i have had no luck as yet, can anyone help?
