vauxhall cavalier radio cassett

I wonder if someone could advise me please. My Pioneer radio cassette
( slot in type) has finally given up the ghost. I have a G reg
Cavalier 1.6 - is there a new Pioneer or other good make that just
slots in the same aperture. Also is the Pioneer the original radio
cassette when the car was new...........

The Cav has a standard DIN hole in the dash, any standard headunit will fit,
and should simply plug in.

Also is the Pioneer the original radio cassette when the car was
new...........

Unlikely, Vauxhall used to fit Philips units.

Thanks very much for the reply. My local audio/car spares shop said
new ones would not fit/work and I did wonder...............
