Seen a device which allows you to use a standalone MP3 player to work
through the FM radio in your car:-

Looks like a better alternative to the cassette adapter solution. Anyone got
any experience of it re. sound quality and ease of use?

Jim.

Unless it's DTI approved (which it's pretty safe to assume it won't
be) then it's not legal for use in the UK. If could also potentially
interfere with emergency service's radios (particularly at the lower
end of it's operating range).

I used a similar device although it used the ciggie lighter for power and
used line out from MP3 player it was very susceptable to wander. which meant
retunes whilst driving. Hairy when you try to retune the transmitter or
retune the car radio. Either way after a couple of near misses through
inattention to the road I gave up. Bought an mp3 playing (on CDROMs) HU and
no further probs.

Similarly there are lots of market stalls selling a hands free radio
transmitter solution, these again necessitate lots of attention within the
car to press the buttons to answer the calls.
