I know this might sound like a bit of an odd question, but what exactly does
a power cap do? Is it something worth having in a simple amp/sub/6x9's boot
install, or is it more suited to bigger systems?
Caps improve transient bass response by delivering a reserve of power
quickly to the amplifier when needed. Good amplifiers generally have
large internal capacitance anyway, so they're only really required if
you're using lesser amplification, are very critical, or are trying to
make the ultimate SQ system.
