what is latency

Hi guys

I have a Athlon 64 3000+ system with 512 RAM and a 7200rpm HDD. I
Ordered a M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 to setup recording via Behringer
mixer.

One thing that stumps me is the latency....

Hi

I did have a read through the articles on SOS and it seem very good. I
have also been searching more and found a MXL1006 condenser mic and a
Yamaha MG102 analog mixer with builtin phantom power....

Most decent mics suitable for this will be capacitor mics and phantom
powered - which usually means using them in conjunction with a suitable
mixer, and would be hard to achieve new within your...
