in the UK during the 1970's and were only sold in premier stores.

Designed around a Peerless midrange driver, their performace...

No wonder people can't hear the difference...

No one is a fool for being skeptical. Many of the claims in audioland
are quite foolish indeed.

Yet in a high resolution system, power cables and interconnects can
make a difference. Not always an...

One of the sadder aspects of the entire affair was what happened to
the crew of the USS Indianapolis, a cruiser which delivered the

Actually the first atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima was Little Boy
(originally named Thin Man after Franklin Roosevelt, then renamed
after a smaller casing).

Fat Man (named after Winston Churchill)...

HI-FI FETISHISM A psychologist's view of the lunatic fringe

I'm confused by some of David's comments.

From Westrex cutting lathes to Western Electric mixers and amplifiers
to Altec Lansing and JBL speakers, it all started commercializing
AT&T's core...

HI-FI FETISHISM A psychologist's view of the lunatic fringe

A very large percentage of current music tracks use DigiDesign's
ProTools, which initially ran exclusively on Macs and their UNIX...

HI-FI FETISHISM A psychologist's view of the lunatic fringe

The US government and AT&T were often at loggerheads over their
monopolistic practices. A sign that hung in many Bell facilities in
1983 read:

There are two giant entities at work in our country,...

HI-FI FETISHISM A psychologist's view of the lunatic fringe

HI-FI FETISHISM A psychologist's view of the lunatic fringe

In my career in the audio industry most of the greatest recent
advances have indeed come from the lunatic fringe. There hasn't been
any serious R&D in this field for over two generations.

Most...

Why is a properly implemented plasma speaker so much better?

The only mass they have is the media itself (air/helium mixture) would
