JL W3v2 sealed or ported
I have a Suzuki vitara and am about to build two single ported boxes for
them (2 x JL12W3 v2D4) to fit behind the rear seats. For those of you that don't know the vitara, there is not a lot of space behind the rear seats. If I make sealed boxes they will fit no problem, if I make ported boxes they will have to be slightly taller and just peak over the rear seats, which doesn't really bother me. Question is, has anyone heard a sealed 12W3 and a ported W3, is there a huge difference between the two? I know some people are gonna say have a listen, but rather than build two boxes (one of each), I'd like to get your opinions. What would you guys recommend? I know ported should give an extra 3db or so, but I'm not entering any competitions, I'm more after the sq option, and anyway, 2x12's will pound with the best of them. out of interest they will be driven by a Rockford power 500a2 TIA Jeff |
