Attention owners of REAL mini's!!! Help!!
I am planning to do an install on a 92 Cooper,
I am planning to run 2 amps (Alpine MRD 500 + MR? 340). Anyway, what worries me is the fact the battery and alternator may not be up to the task, What have people done to eliminate the problem?? Thanks for your help! Tim |

Without an upgrade, you'll almost certainly have problems. If you upgrade, I'd also recommend replacing the front to rear power cable under the car, as the cable outer sleeve has a habit of cracking, and then the cable corrodes internally. It's also not really up to the job of working with a heavier alternator. I'd also replace:- engine to chassis earth strap battery to earth strap alternator to solenoid power lead If it's got lead push on/screw down battery caps on that age, then those definitely need upgrading.
