Last word on the Goodman's piece of DAB cack...
Just thought I'd look back at the on line spec:
Unified DAB/analogue aerial technology - separate DAB aerial not required ....hm. Not always. See comments from users. 4 x 20W RMS output ....yes, it supports 4 speakers DAB digital radio ....yes, it's one of those DAB auto tune facility ....really doesn't work - see earlier comments. 18 DAB presets ....no, there's 6 DLS digital text facility ....which has a fixed timeout of 20 seconds IIRC, too short to read anything on the LED display. Multi-language support ....er, no. Even the manual's only in English. 2 band MW/FM RDS analogue tuner ....it actually has longwave as well 30 FM/MW preset station memories ....and 6 LW ones FM/MW auto store and preset scan ....probably Local/distant (lo/dx) and mono/stereo function ....no it doesn't Repeat, random play and intro scan CD functions ....yes Detachable front panel with anti-theft LED ....yes Aux. input ....no, it doesn't ISO connection ....that's like saying "it comes in a box". What car stereo doesn't have ISO? Yes, anyway. Supplied with tough front panel carry case Might dispute "tough", since mine sprang open if you touched it, but yes, there is one. Of 15 claims, by my count that makes 8 or 9 that are wrong or inaccurate. I prefer the Dixon's description, which additionally failed to mention that it could play CDs! Phil |
