Hi All,

I fitted 10cm speakers to the rear of my E36 coupe, I took some pictures
when I did it and finally got around to making a rough guide for anybody
else thinking about a speaker upgrade.

So, for those who are interested, here is my solution to replacing the
Nokias with 10cm third party speakers (JBL in this case).

BTW - it might be a little slow on a modem due to the large graphics.

Yes yes, well done. If only I had the skill.
I do, however, have a 12" sub and 2 way speakers in the back of the car so
people in the back seat get to enjoy the music in it's full unmuffled glory.

Actually, I was thinking about putting a couple of subs up there but bottled
it and made do with a sealed enclosure in the boot. It's not too bad but you
can really tell the difference when one of the rear seats is folded down.

And, while we are on the E36 topic, I've started getting a rattle from the
roof lining. If I press it near the passenger sun visor, the rattle stops;
let go and it starts again. Any ideas? I really don't want to pull the roof
lining off. I did that with an old (real)Mini and it never went back again
;o)

Not got a sunroof have you? The wind deflector is a fairly common rattle
up there.

Failing that, if you've got the vanity mirror lights, perhaps pop it out
and have a feel up inside.

I was going to guess at something sunroof-related, but my car doesn't have
one, so I don't know much about them :-)

Hmm, I do. Cheers Scott, I'll experiment with that.

To check, with it closed, pressing the front of the "cover" up may stop
it. Also, I think it goes away when you open it. There is a BMW approved
fix that consists of a bit of foam rubber stuck under the wind
deflector.
