Sony compared to Kenwood, Pioneer etc
 

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a 4 channel amp and four speakers. I'm not looking
for the ultimate setup, but something that sounds reasonable for a
reasonable price. Previously i've used Kenwood amps and Pioneer
speakers and have been very pleased. I note these days that Sony are
very competitive for these items - e.g. the Sony XM-444 amp is a
similar spec to the Kenwood KAC-749S but approx 2/3rds of the price.
What does everybody think of Sony in terms of sound quality and
reliability compared to Kenwood and Pioneer?
