Bridging?
Ok this is probably a very silly question from someone who doesn't really
understand audio electronics but is it possible to bridge 2 channels on a 4 channel amp and keep the other 2 channels unbridged (and stereo) for the components or is this going to need to be a 2 amp setup? |

Depending on which type of amp you are using this is a fairly common
option. If you still have a manual for the amp you are looking at the option to run 3 channels. Yes, no problem at all, unless you buy a really weird (and probably very old) amp. Every four channel amp I've ever come across has been capable of doing what you propose. In fact, it's what four channel amps are normally intended for ! Steve. |
