Whalfedale WCD 712
Hi,
I have just installed a Whalfedale WCD 712 and set the clock and radio stations but it cant seem to remember what I just input, i.e. when I turn the engine off and on again the clock goes back to 12:00 and the preset radio stations are lost. Anyone have this cd player and know what I might be doing wrong? Cheers, Tim |

Cheers, Tim you've not got the power wires the correct way round, the permanant live is connected to the accessory live position on the stereo, and vise versa, so when the ignition goes off, all power is removed from the stereo, and it looses power to keep the memories and clock etc. the handbook should have told you about different cars having the permanent and ignition switched power wires in differnet positions on the iso connectors.. VW do this mainly, but as VW controll so many cars nowadays, skoda, seat, audi and so on will be the same, |

Thanks for the reply. I dont have a handbook for the stereo cos I got it
second hand. Where will I find these wires so I can switch them? The car is a Vauxhall Cavalier. Cheers. "CampinGazz" wrote in message ... "Tim J" wrote in message ... All being well you should have a red and a yellow cable coming from the
stereo. These are the two cables to be switched (they're usually on bullets these days but I can't say for sure on a Whalfdale unit). Hi, just looked at the wire set-up, the red and yellow cable coming from the
stereo match to red and yellow wires going to the car, so is it safe to change these wires round and have opposite matching colours? Tim "www.cel-direct.com" wrote in message . .. I've just tried but I cant get the 2 wires out of their holder. Is there an
easy way? Tim "www.cel-direct.com" wrote in message ... Yep should be fine no problems.
