done with car audio forever...
Well, I've been a regular lurker here for the past few years building my
car sound system. I even posted a little when I thought I could help out.
Anyways, yesterday at 3:00 in the afternoon some a$$holes broke into my car
and cut the alarm, They stole $4800 worth of equipment alone not to mention
damaged the rest of the installation. 3 PPI amps, Phoenix gold equipment,
about 50 cd's and the HU. They didn't get my car so they stole a Civic on
the same floor. They even used the transponder in the civic to get out of
the garage unnoticed... Luckily (if they catch them), they got them on
video leaving the garage. Sad part is that it all happened 2 doors down
from the police station, across the street from my girlfriends work with
police cruisers buzzing around everywhere.
I'm covered by insurance but that doesn't matter. You pour your heart and
soul into something, burning yourself with a hot glue gun and superglueing
your fingers together... Getting alternator whine out of your car and
everything... hundreds if not thousands of hours working with fiberglass,
bondo, whatever gets the job done. Once it's working perfectly, some
lowlife thieves come in and take it all away, in minutes. They even busted
some of the intricate woodwork I'd been getting read to paint and
fiberglass. If they didn't get it, they tried to break it. They ripped
RCA cables off, cut the powerlines, and left my distribution block beeping
with a blown fuse.
I just wish they took the entire damn car because now I have to take all the
custom stuff out and throw it away... I know it's not to the same degree,
but it's like knowing a loved one was shot with a gun but you having to
clean up the mess. Hurts like hell.
If there is any good from this, it's knowing that when we all die (and we
all will) that these SOB's are going to hell.
To all the thieves in the world. "Rot in Hell"
My apologies on a long ranting post, but I need this closure...

Sorry to hear that **** mate. I know what you are going through (to a lesser
extent) as I had a car broken into and contents valueing more than the value
of the car taken. And they also decided to take a bag of shopping with AA
batterys and some new boxers in. Losers, the lot of them. Like you say, the
insurance is there but its the fact they bust things up, scratch and bend
**** to get in, and just walk off with it.

Damn, these feckers are everywhere. Here in Dublin(car crime capital of
Europe) it's no better. They took my laptop(no big tears, easily replaced),
**but* they also took another laptop case which contained not a laptop but
my complete service engineers' toolkit, built up over 20 years, many of the
tools being rthe originals. No good to anyone else.
Apparantly these scum when forced to meet their victims(if they get caught)
they are devastated and show great remorse......hu.
Jim.
