Sub Encloseure construction guide?

Hey what do you think about using a nail gun with glue instead of screws?

Reason I'm asking is I'm getting a shop to make my next box as its cheaper
for me. I normally pre drill holes and then screw down but are nails good
enough?

Thanks

Jim

Is there anywhere i can get one, becuase there is no way im paying £50

for
an mdf box!

A guide - 6 bits of MDF, screw & glue together.

It ain't rocket science.

[ignoring the whole sealed/ported sized issues as if your thinking of

going
for an off the shelf box 99/100 you are ignoring them anyway]

Only problem I can think of is, unless they are gripper nails, that
actually bite into the wood/MDF, vibration might loosen them making the
box less rigid.

Thanks!

What I might do is see if I can cut the carpet off and pre drill holes for
my screws then stick back down. If not, I might just screw over the carpet.
Ugly it may be but at least I have a strong box that wont fall apart.

Thanks again

Jim

Think of something like black japaned screws, they won't look so bad
againsta dark carpetted box. and if you went for something like dome
headed ones, and used them evenly, it might look like they were supposed
to be there.

Yup exactly. I normally use the flat headed black wood screws. Just use
three on each side should be okay as its already glued and nailed.

Thanks
