Possible Power Problem ?? please help
I have a sony flip and when I turn the volume up loud on the head unit the
audio starts cutting in and out!!! There is no external amp being used. Could this problem be due to not enough power getting to the head unit? Thanks in advance |

Could this problem be due to not enough power getting to : the head unit? It could well be that the voltage drops when the unit draws current. I would check the supply. Are you absolutely sure that it is connected directly to a 12V supply and not to the "earthy" end of another piece of equipment. Try connecting the unit directly to the battery (via a suitable fuse of course). If the fault goes away there is something wrong with the supply wiring. The other thing that comes to mind is low resistance on the output side, causing the output chips to shut down. I assume you haven't got loads of speakers in parallel. it sounds to me like there's a loose connection on one of the speakers...as it's cranked up, the vibrations are shaking it loose. Unlikely if all channels cut out. Regards. Ben. |
