I've decided to get a SonyCDXF5700 £169.99 from Car Audio Direct for
my 1994 Corsa anyone got any comments on the shop and will I need an
adaptor? (I'm not worried about loosing the cars date display)
Thanks,
Ford.

The car has ISOs, so it'll plug straight in. If you wanted to keep the
display, it's possible with that unit using an additional interface:-

Thanks for that Jon, I see you sell the 5500, is the 7500 worth the
extra? looking at the specs there's not that much difference except
the colour of the display and the graphic equalizer.

The CDXF7500 also has triple preouts, aux input, and probably most
important, BBE-MP. The latter improves poorer quality recording
(ie.MP3) by digitally recreating harmonics, which helps to warm the
sound up and increase the level of detail. It's also got a rotary
volume control, which I personally much prefer.

Had my 5500 fitted by Car Audio Direct in Manchester - cheaper than most
places and a pleasure to visit.

The same differences also apply in that case - triple preouts, aux in
and BBE-MP on the 5700, but not on the 5500.

Jon,
I'm not looking to add an amp and I'm sure I can probably do the same
thing to the MP3s on my PC (before I burn them) that the 5700 does in
car, so it looks like the 5500.
