Default front component speakers-recomendations?

Hi,

My 4 year old Megane came with a crappy tape deck and so I'm upgrading
it to a Kenwood KDC-W6027.

I figure the speakers will need changing too at some point and I'd like
to put a new set of component speakers into the front (I think the doors
take 13cm diameter mid-ranges). Does anyone have any recommendations
regarding such speakers? Any particularly good or bad ones? Don't really
want to spend more than 70 quid because I figure the law of diminishing
returns sets in after that point.

Cheers,
Rob

Check the size - if the car's got electric windows, they may be 165mm.

Component kits of comparable quality to the head unit really start
around that price and go upwards. The law of diminishing returns
probably doesn't kick in until around £200 RRP.

IMO, Infinity References are still by far the best option in that
price range, and are efficient enough to run off a head unit happily
without external amplification.

I'd second the Infinities. I have the 165mm babies in the front of my Focus
and they rock.

I have focal 165 ca. I never compared them to the equivalent infinity's but
I'm very pleased with them
