Genesis P69-4 in 306 Cabriolet
Hi,
I've just installed some Genesis P69-4 6x9 speakers in the back of my 306 cabriolet. I've made MDF brackets that have been secured to the inside of the trim by the rear seats. These brackets replace the original 4x6 bracket. I've put a layer of foam betweek the bracket and the trim. This is all glued and very secure. However when I screw on the speakers and connect to my amp I get a lot of vibrating and buzzing from the speaker. The vibrations comes specifically from near the speaker come. You cant see the cone as its hidden behind the trim. The trim just has a load of small dilled holes to let the sound through rather than a large hole. The noise is there even when you just hold the trim out of the car and play the speaker. Does anyone know why I am hearing these vibrations? The only thing I can think of is that the rubber surround is hitting the inside of MDF hole. Maybe the speaker is not accuratly over the hole. Or have I gone about this installation in totally the wrong way?? I've stuck a couple pics here... http://www.photobox.co.uk/public/det...c_album=712375 Appologies if I'm taking crap, but this is all new to me... Thanks Alan |
