http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_p...p?partno=XA300

Been looking at that and it does mention that it won't work without a CD
changer connected, what I need to know though is will it work with an XA-C30
and 3 CD changers connected, as I have in my car?

Basically I have recently bought a roofmount screen and 2 headrest screens,
and am going to be getting a DVD player shortly plus a PS2 in the car and I
really don't want to go the RF modulator route, but am not sure the above
will work with my existing 3 changers and the XA-C30
connected...................

Many thanks in anticipation.

The XA-300 connected to the head unit will give you two aux. inputs
for the PS2 and DVD, plus a pass through connection which you can
connect the XA-C30 to. That then gives you 3 changer inputs, so you'll
be fine for connections.

The head unit should be capable of handling all of the sources OK so,
to the best of my knowledge, it should all work fine. It really is one
of those scenarios though where the only way to know for certain is to
actually try it. All I can say is if you want to take one and try,
we'd always take it back if it doesn't work. If that should be the
case, there are other options to consider before an FM modulator
becomes a necessity.

I suspected it might be a "suck it and see" case. In that case I'll go
order one now and give it a whirl. Let you know how it goes.

Just out of interest too, when in use do you know if it shows up on the
headunit as Aux or something? I guess it should but it's not really
important.

Also, these other options you mention - what are they? I really don't want
to go for an FM modulator if I can possibly avoid it.

Cheers - Dan

slick - it was all done in seconds!!

It can but it's not very good really and what I'm planning on doing is
either selling the PS2 or using that as well as I have a roofmount screen
with 2 inputs and 2 headrest screens, again though I might be selling those
too, not sure yet.

Anyway - Jon - unit arrived this morning thanks and it should be OK as it
does mention in the installation manual that it can be connected to the
XA-C30 as well, so it should all be good. Just need to find a DVD player
now......

It does? I actually checked the manual, but must've somehow missed
that bit!

Yup, under the title "Connection Example" - it says "1 You can connect trhe
source selector (XA-C30 etc) compatible with the Sony BUS system. For
details refer to the user's manual of the source selector you are using."

First column on the sheet, 2nd section down, just under the picture number
2.

As ever, excellent service from ICE - DVD player arrived about half an hour

Just need to get my car back from the garage before I can install it all
