alternator whine
I connected up my amp, and speakers. there's a whistle noise coming from the
speakers, as I accelerate.. is this alternator whine? Is it caused by a ground connection? if I re-ground my amp to another place, will it stop this noise? also my front speakers dont sound the best. Their inifinity reference 5.25 or something along those lines, their hooked upto a audiobahn 4601t amp. The speakers are in the doors, with about a 1cm gap around the speaker to the door hole... do they sound crap cause it isn't flush with the door?? not air tight?? how can I fix this?/ any help much appreciated |

You need a wire as thick as the power feed going to a tag (preferably soldered) held down by a heavy duty screw (6mm or bigger) to a bit of the body scraped to the bare metal. Almost sure to fix it. Can't really help with the speakers. Can't you get an adaptor plate? Peter Scott |
alternator whine
Hi, should clarify the speakers are attached to the door. Its just there's a
1cm hole around it of empty space. I think thats why the sound quality is poor.... Can I use dynamat? take out the speaker, and put dynamat around it to cover up the 1cm gap around the speaker?? would this improve the sound? Or am I just wasting my time/money "Chris" wrote in message ... I connected up my amp, and speakers. there's a whistle noise coming from the speakers, as I accelerate.. is this alternator whine? It's probably a better idea to cut an mdf plate out to cover the hole and to mount the speaker to that (if possible).
