Pioneer and Audi A3
 

Hello all,

I've just installed a Pioneer DEH-P3630MP on my Audi A3 (2000)
It works fine but there are some issues:

1 - It only works when I have the key on the contact.
2 - When I remove the keys, after 2 seconds the radio beeps 4 times.

Is there a way to fix it ? Why does it beeps ?

Take the faceplate off.

Ignition. I cannot listen the radio if I don't put the key in.

Isn't that howthe old radio worked?
If notswap the permanent 12v with the switched 12v on the head unit loom.

Audi radios have software which allows them to work with the ignition off,
you don't get this feature with an aftermarket unit (except Blaupunkt &
VDO). The beeping is a reminder to remove the faceplate and is a Pioneer
feature.

Audi radios have software which allows them to work with the ignition off,
you don't get this feature with an aftermarket unit (except Blaupunkt &
VDO).

My aftermarket kenwood MD works without the ignition for a pre determined
period.
