I have a Kenwood KRC391 Head Unit and 6 Disc CD Changer, I have had to
change the CD lead as I broke the old one and now the cd resets back to Disc
1-Track 1 every time I switch the ignition off then back on.

Anyone any ideas whats wrong or if there is some sort of setting on it for
it to remember the last track played and carry on from where it left off
when it was turned off? It worked fine with the old lead connected until I
crushed the connector.

Does the head unit also lose it's station presets when you turn the
ignition off?

No, just the CD changer resets to Disc 1 Track 1.

Radio presets are all fine, Ignition Live and Permanent live are connected
to right ones.

Check the fuses for Ign and B+ in the car and any in line fuses to the unit

It could unfortunately be a problem pretty much anywhere in the system
in that case - the cable could be damaged or defective, resulting in
no permanent live to the changer, the changer could be faulty, or the
damaged original cable could have shorted previously, blowing a track
out in the power feed to the changer within the head unit, etc.
Realistically, you're probably going to have to try and find a way to
test your changer with a different head unit, or vice versa.
