Audi A3 Replscement Aerial Base
 

Hi,
The aerial on my 2002 A3 has gone open circuit. I think it is
amplified (electronics in the base). I have not gone the whole hog and
removed the unit yet but there appears to be only one wire into the
base unit (revealed under the courtesy light panel) which is not co-ax
but a very thin single core with glossy coating.
Is the aerial amplified?
Should I look further for the missing co-ax (it doesn't feel like there
is anything obvious in the loom or that there is supposed to be a wire
into/out of the exsisting base unit).

Any assisitance appreciated

Think I need a FUBA antenna base which is all in one - cannot fins a UK
supplier, can anyone help?
