plenty advise needed
pimpin up me pug
im in the process of pimpin up me Peugeot partner (combi) ......yes you did read it correctly now stop laughing....got a pair Maystar 3 way 6x9`s to stick in the front door panel each side iv`e custom made new mountings and these now are integral to each panel and ready to fit speakers.... should I..... a) put some sort of barrier between magnet & door enclosing speaker rear end in as if it were in a case? or suggestions please... also where online is the best place to get vehicle wiring colour codes & info.. so far ive fitted Sony Mex-bt5000in dash..1 x 10" 450w sub in sealed box in rear. this is coupled to a maystar 750w qx series 2ch amp.....the 6x9`s in front + 2 x 10cm co-axials mounted high up right back as far as i could get em are powered directly from the head unit at the moment... |

You will almost certainly benefit though from applying a decent amount of soundproofing material (ie. dynamat or similar) around the speaker mounting location, and on the back of the outer door skin. This should remove a lot of resonance from the panels, which will help improve the sound quality. not exactly what i was hoping for but thanks anyway...I will see what they sound like just so i can justify spending 3.5 days butchering me pug like a crazyboy..i wil take your advice & soundproof as best i can...i should point out that the speakers will not sit inside the metalwork of the door as the oem`s did due to the way i constructed new mountings.......... the magnet only just (by a whisker) protruds past the rear plate (mdf 12mm)so i should be able to practicly enclose them totaly.....anyway thanks again for the advice i will fiddle aplenty and see what i can come up with... |
