Removing cover from CD30 in Vectra
Evening All,
My darling two year old has put all my spare change in the CD slot of my CD30 CD player/radio in the Vectra. I fished some tuppences out this morning, tried a CD but it wouldn't read CDs, so I thought there were more coins in there, but figured I could live without the CD for the moment. However, on the way home tonight the radio stopped working to. I think the unit has been fooled into thinking there's a CD being inserted and so has muted the radio. I can't find any more coins within easy reach of my keys, so I guess there's one or more in the innards of the thing jamming it up. Question is, does anyone know how I can get the face plate off the unit? There are 4 small holes in the front, but they don't seem to have screws in them. I'd like to be able to at least get the radio back as we're driving to Devon on Thursday and I don't think I can get it seen to before then.. Any help appreciated! Thanks, Al. |

If the 4 holes are arranged as two vertical pairs, at the extreme right and left of the front panel - then you push an extraction tool into each one. This releases two clips and allows the unit to be pulled forward and out. http://www.incaripod.com/Brand/Radio...al_Tool_PC5-83 Old knitting needles will do the job... -- Sue |

Have to see if the wife has any old knitting needles lying around - thanks very much for the hint! :-) Al. |
