Default "No Disc" CD Player

My CD Player (Sony CDP XE510) insists there's "No Disc" in the drawer
(intermittently at first, now consistently). Anyone come across this
problem? Is repair a practical option or am I best getting shut?
(I've tried cleaning the lens, to no avail....)

TIA,

Can't help you, but my Marantz CD67 has started ignoring a disc when the
player is cold as well. (OK when it warms up). It happened to my old
Denon player and was the first sign of the player totally dying.

(Once the CD67 has seen the disc, it plays it perfectly).
