Lecson Preamp & Amp?
 

Has anyone in the UK heard of Lecson Preamps & Amplifiers? I have two
preamps and a 100watt/ch cylindrical Amplifier. Is there any market for them
in the UK? They were shown briefly in the movie "Clockwork Orange".

They were certainly style icons in the '70s, although many people had
trouble with the sliders on the preamp going crackly after a year or
two. Best try E-Bay to find if they have value.

They were certainly style icons in the '70s, although many people had

I remember to read on italian audio magazines that they were amongst the
better amplifier systems about 1980.
Audio technology really hasnt improved from 1975.
I think that they can be very good for an audiophile system even today.
Try them before decide to sell them.
I think that they only need some service after 25 years: change all
electrolitic capacitors with today's better audio grade capacitors, clean
potentiometers etc., little works that can return them to state of the art
audio.

Wasn't this designed by Dave Aspinal about 1980 or thereabouts, or was
he involved in the Lentek outfit?. Another bunch located near the hub of
British Audio, around Huntingdon.

A bit earlier than that I think. I have an old mate who's had the flat
slider preamp/cylinder power amp combo since the mid 70s

IIRC, they were done by Boothroyd, and Bob Stuart of Meridian.
