CD Player skipping

My Roksan Kandy Mk3 player has started skipping during the first few minutes of many CD's. Anyone have any insight on this before I ship it back to Roksan? After about 2 mins of the first track, it plays fine to the end. When something similar in the skipping line happened to mine (a different make) I had to ship it back for a service. The usual cleaning routines had no effect. Hmmn, makes you wonder what mechanisms the hifi folks buy in for their kit. A variety of cd drives in various pcs here survive for far longer and suffer far more abuse by way of dust, knocks, etc. :) Fish |
