Odd, only earlier today I was thinking there must be a proper name for
a "tonearm" ! Any ideas ?

a "tonearm" ! Any ideas ?

I would have thought that tonearm fitted that one perfectly. Just one
resonant tone, that is.
For a better name - how about cartridge dragger.

It's actually the record that drags the, er, needle - the arm (or wand) just
hangs on to it like grim death.....
