Will the Bose Acoustimass 15 home cinema speaker system work with a Yamaha
DSP-AX630 SE ?
I read something about the speakers all connecting to the Sub connector, is
this true ?

Yes quite well in fact.

Yes all the crossovers are within the Sub woofer unit. The sat units
can only handel aout 20w max so dont attempt to use them without the
sub connections, else you will join the others on ebay selling the sub
without the sats.
The cable they use is quite thin bell wire type cable, the sound
output can easly be improved with better cables. My brother used the
QED classics and QED silver for the centre. He found it improved
things quite a bit in terms of presence and depth and clarity and
dynamics.

Although you should be aware that using the B-word here is tantamount
to swearing.
so expect some flames.

However there are alternatives to the bose option, give Canton movie
CD1's a try
I think they are a lot better and cheaper. Also the Gallo's are well
worth an audition, preferably using a different sub than the round
thing (say a rel). -now they are worth that little bit extra.

Quite right too! I asked here last year when I was about to buy a Bose
system. Fortunately I was put right and avaoided what I now know is a load
of crap.

I ended up with a Linn Classik Movie Di with Linn sub, Linn centre, Linn
front speakers (Katans) and Gallo rear speakers. The whoel system is
absolutely superb. I chose the Gallo rears because of their tiny size but
the sound reproduction in surround mode is totally beyond belief. Superb.

So yes, if you have the option avoid Bose and spend your money on something
decent.

Out of interest the Bose system I was going to buy cost around £3700. My
Linn/Gallo setup cost £4200 but the difference in quality- and I mean
quality of kit aswell as sound - is worlds apart from the Bose systems.
