Yamaha DSP-A1 - What's the AC outlet connector?
I'd like to use the AC outlet of my DSP-A1 to power some of my hifi -
but what is the connector used on it? It's rectangular with two pins, but doesn't seem to be US style. Can anyone confirm the type (and hopefully a source of plugs as well!) -- Peter Crighton Email To: peter (at) p-cright.demon.co.uk |

Can anyone confirm the type (and hopefully a source of plugs as well!) IIRC, called a Euro *Facilities* plug - not to be confused with an IEC which is called a Euro plug. Maplin used to do them, but neither they nor RS Components list them now. The ones I've got are marked 'Bulgin 6/250 R770' but IIRC have to be modified by cutting off a sort of fourth plastic pin. Bulgin is - or was - a UK company, so you might try contacting them. Or Yamaha. -- *Change is inevitable ... except from vending machines * Dave Plowman London SW 12 RIP Acorn |

The picture at the Keene web site is horrible, but if the connector in question resembles this one: http://www.bulgin.co.uk/Products/IEC...onnectors.html then an adaptor that a standard US mains plug plugs into is a standard PC item. This connector also appeared on the back of almost every AT-style power supply. |

Thanks for everyone's help in identifying this part. -- Peter Crighton Email To: peter (at) p-cright.demon.co.uk |

This connector also appeared on the back of almost every AT-style power supply. For some reason best known to themselves, Yamaha use a two pin outlet which I've never seen the correct plug for. However, Bulgin do a three pin version which you can remove the earth pin from - at your own risk. ;-) -- *The man who fell into an upholstery machine is fully recovered.* Dave Plowman London SW 12 RIP Acorn |
