Title says it all. One of these hard to get line sockets in new and unused
condition. Also on the same page you'll find a two pin version - dunno
what that was used on.

Hard to get? Don't you mean Maplin stock number HL44X, 2.49 UKP?

Nope. That's the type that fits later Quads etc, and is much smaller -
14mm diameter rather than 28. To the best of my knowledge, the exact type
- or even one which will mate with the older large type - has been
unavailable new for some time.

Of course the obvious answer would be to replace the mains inlet with
something like an IEC, but this wouldn't suit some. ;-)

Oh! You mean the big Bulgin connector. I remember them well. What's
wrong with connecting to the pins using three croc clips (uninsulated,
of course)? :^) (Safety warning: Don't try this at home, folks.)

That's the one. Someone who's just spent a fortune returning a Quad II to
pristine condition may just appreciate a new correct plug. I've also got a
two pin version which would yield a screw-on cover and cord grip for an
old 3 pin at a pinch. But the auction will be over by the time this gets
read.

Heh heh - or simply change the whole lot to an IEC.
