Preamp to power amp cable

Hi - could someone advise me of the best way to hook these 2 (Audiolab 8000c
and cambridge A75, 4 metres apart) up? At the moment I'm using a 5 metre
£3.99 phono cable from Maplins and it does sound superb, at least compared
to the 8000a.

The problem with all this is i'm not sure I could reliably tell the
difference between cables (been there etc), so I suppose I'm asking about
the 'most correct', 'appropriate' and so forth. I'd hate to think I was
missing something even if I can't hear it!

Many thanks
Rob

How can you miss somthing you can't hear? How would you even know you were
missing it?

Well, with all the faffing about with cables the differences are so subtle
(if present). I suppose my q would have been better phrased 'what's the
proper way to connect the 2 up', and the answers seem to be with whatever's
designed for the job and cheap.

The cable is unlikely to be a problem, almost any ok quality co-ax is

fine.
If you really want magic interconnects they often go cheap on ebay, sold

by
people 'upgrading' their system ;)

Isn't that the stuff used for aerials? I can't tell if the cheapo cable is
coax or not as the plugs are moulded. But it sounds fine.

Thanks for the advice

If you really want to try for yourself and live near a Richer Sounds they
used to do a thing where you leave a deposit and can borrow a case of all
the different cables to try on your own system. If you try this I'd advise
blind testing.

Oh but that takes all the fun out of it. ;-)
