Pioneer Turntable Mains Question
Hi anyone who's reading,
I've got a Pioneer turntable with an AC input plug that's designed to be plugged into the back of the amp. Unfortunately my Pioneer amp doesn't have a corresponding mains out socket. Is there any way I can get an adapter to plug the turntable into the mains? I don't suppose that a standard 'universal adapter' from Dixons wil do the trick? Thanks in advance, Cassidy. |

The neatest way would be to simply cut off the existing plug and replace it with a 13 amp one, fused at 3 amps. -- *Cover me. I'm changing lanes. Dave Plowman London SW 12 RIP Acorn |

In which case, all you have to worry about is if the TT is 230V or 115V. If 230V then just stick a UK mains plug on the cord. It may just be a low-voltage feed but I doubt it very much. Does the TT have a label stating the voltage? -- Chris Morriss |
Pioneer Turntable Mains Question
Hi,
is this for mains voltage or for a transformer stepped down one from the Pioneer amp. Is it labelled to say what the voltage required is? If it is for 240 V ~ then you may find a suitable lead on the Maplin site. CJ "Cassidy" wrote in message om... Do any amps - set for 230 - emit 110 from a utility outlet? It would need a fair sized transformer to provide this facility which would have little if any use. -- *Pentium wise, pen and paper foolish * Dave Plowman London SW 12 RIP Acorn |
Pioneer Turntable Mains Question
Hi,
I was thinking of more like a low 15V or similar as the transformer on my turntable outputs. CJ "Dave Plowman" wrote in message ... Ah - right. But I'd assume they don't use a mains connector for this. It would be unusual to make an amp with a low voltage supply built in for something like a turntable - it would make that turntable only usable with that amp. -- *If PROGRESS is for advancement, what does that make CONGRESS mean?
