Linn LP12 Base Board

My Linn LP12 has I think the newer higher Quality base board, not the
hardboard type which I removed to install a very long new mains lead.

I did not bother to make a note, as to which way it should be replaced

Is the round hole supposed to be where the tone arm cable connects to the
tone arm???

Almost certainly - to prevent the armlead plug from hitting the baseboeard.
