What headphone choose?
Hello all!
I need a good headphone for use with e-guitar/e-bass ... my first doubt it's: the best ones for this use could be the best sounding also for hear music at good quality? What i need it's very good sounding and comfortable (for esample: some of hi-fi headphone of past hear was very heavy and not comfortably after some minute of use....)..so the advices that i need are for: -one little earpiece of at not high price (sure NO more than 80$/€) for use also out of home with portable player (if the answer at my first question it's yes obviously eheh) ....ps: someone have tryed the behringer? (from what i have just read they could have a very high ratio soundquality/price )...or the best ratio q/€ could be buying these kit from an electric shop(like radioshack etc)? - and another (earpiece or not..but generally the most hi-fi aren't earpice.. )one that i will not use out of home (so it could cost more than the first...;) )...very hi-fi (for listen music, but use it for the previous of music--recording if it's possibile ) but not a crazy price .... cause i'm not one of these swindled by marketing :-) that think "oh if it's of this famous brand and cost more than the others...it's the better" :-) ps: if you know also an european store/ebayer with very special price on hearphone...say to me and i will appreciate a lot ;) Thanks in advance! AKG K240 Studio. A bit more than $80, but worth every nickle.

(from what i have just read they could have a very high ratio soundquality/price )...or the best ratio q/? could be buying these kit from an electric shop(like radioshack etc)? I have tried several headphones for just the same range of applications as You: - low end behringer - Sennheiser HD424 - Bayer DT880 - Koss Porta Pro - Bayer DTX700 What You appear to need is a good sounding low impedance (32-100 Ohms) which accepts a high load, sound good and costs not too much. I have decided to buy the DTX700 fur just that purpose although i own all the other devices. Low impedance is crucial in order to be able to drive it with portables. This will exclude most of the high end hifi devices like the bayer dt 880 (600 Ohms) or the Sennheisers. The behringer is good for its price but not very comfortable (for me). I bought one for my children. Candidates You might have a look are the Koss Porta Pro or something like the bayer DTX 700. Both low impedance, and the dtx700 accepts 1.5 Watts! Important if You want to use it with a bass guitar - You will drive the Koss to its limits with bass playing at even modest volume (i got problems over long time usage and bought the DTx700 as an alternative). The acoustic quality of the dtx700 is good (top in its price range), while the koss is a bit and the dt880 is significantly better if driven from an appropriate amp (i am talking of high end hifi equipment). So it appears a reasonable compromise for it. It is light and comfortable and has a fairly long cable (3m). Maybe there is already an improved new model - it will be worth checking. It will meet Your price range. I am quite happy with it and actually use it more often as my DT880. Michael BTW, the AKG mentioned in the other response is also really good, but if You do not want to spend that much... |
