Whoa! That happy little ditty is definitely a keeper. I'm going
searching down the record shops in Soho tomorrow.

She has that Scandinavian thing of not knowing when an "s" should
sound like a "z". The Abba girls did it too. Their ignorance of the
finer nuances of spoken English is quite disgraceful ;-)

Yeah terrible ain't it - like Bjork's soft 'g's sounding like 'j's...!! :-)

OK, by way of pushing the 'Pipex Webspace Barrier', here (with a bit of
luck) are a couple more from another Nordic Siren - Virna Lindt's 'Shiver':

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/keit...1%20Shiver.mp3

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/keit...h%20Modern.mp3

Off the vinyl this time and not quite as 'modern' as she would have us
believe - 1984 - so I bet she's an old dear now.....

(Re-issued though, I believe...)

Mmmmm no, I don't think I will be chasing down Virna, just a bit too
avant-garde for me.

Anyhoo, moot AFAIAC, as I can not get a recording from my vinyl setup
without having the slider set at the absolute minimum or I get clipping, as
anyone who has bothered to listen to any of the wacky clips I post from time

I envisage as not much more than an Alps pot in a little box with phono
sockets IN and OUT, wired accordingly.

Too simple? Am I missing summat here? (Like everything you buy seems to have
a tiny little resistor stuck in it for some reason!)

Using a microphone level input instead of line level?

It's in the August 2004 editions of either HFW or HFN - I haven't
been able to find it again yet. But there is a huge article in HFW
(pp 76 - 81) that opens up a whole new can of worms for me on the
subject of LP HD. See this strapline for an idea.....

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/keit...w/L1040425.JPG

....so I've got a lot of catching up to do. (The extra resolution and
bandwidth of 24/96 sounds appealing and I think I'm about to revise my
thinking as a result of this bit of propaganda.....!!!)

As you say, propaganda. It's sheerest BS. If he couldn't see what was
playing...

Avante-Garde - that old biddy??

See:

http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip...oldj.htm#LINDT

and check out Strawberry Switchblade! (English version, sadly not ready
yet - so we can only guess....!! :-)

OK, so you'll not be wanting to hear Lena Willemark and Ale Moller (the
'Bouzouki Man From Malmo') on "Agram"

http://www.mybestlife.com/music/Willemark.htm

(Let's push this sodding Pipex envelope a bit with another track - here's a
*very* nice little taster from Lena Willemark:

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/keit...t%20Stomar.mp3 )

Or, these albums "Coming Soon" :-

Howzabout summat litesome (in a "pre-Wagnerian Rhinegold curse" sorta
way..... :-) - "Edda - Myths From Medieval Iceland" by Sequentia then...???

http://www.sequentia.org/press.html

If not, maybe the "Gallaecia Fvlget" by Milladoiro will be more to your
taste? (Reputedly *very big* on bits of inflated goat and penny
whistles....)

http://www.milladoiro.com/Homep.htm

(Watch this space!! :-)

Bugger, forgot the link to this Milladoiro sample which, as they appear
neither Japanese nor Scandinavian (my current 'Flavours Of The Month'), I
can't quite see why I'm getting them....??

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/keit.../CANTOCEGO.mp3

My WMP says 'Pista' - which is a bit harsh I reckon! They may have had a
couple just to get the 'creative juices' flowing, but 'Pista'?? - (Obviously
haven't heard The Pogues, then....!!!)

Did someone mention Japanese Girls?

OK, perfect excuse to upload this and max out my webspace:

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/keit...ese%20Girl.mp3

Enjoy!

(OK, time for a bacon sangie and a spot of DVD now! :-)

More likely an EAR tube preamp that develops rather more than the
average line-level voltage, I'd say! I think we've been here before...

And the latest release is .............................486 !!!!
It becomes a bit of a joke when you can't follow your own advice. Reminds me
