Eltax Symphony 6.3
I'm looking for advice as I've seen a new pair of Eltax Symphony 6.3
for £40 which struck me as being a bargain, but I thought I'd post a message on here to see what the experts have to say! Anyone heard/own a pair of these? They can't be that bad for £40 can they?! http://www.eltax.com/products/salgel...p?varenr=10009 |

This could be a guide. -- Despite appearances, it is still legal to put sugar on cornflakes. Strawberries are purely optional. |

You'd get far more than your forty quids worth :-) If you've a mind to have a go try here to begin with; http://fullrangedriver.com/tiki-page...FullrangeIntro And a couple of specific sites; http://www.pmillett.addr.com/tqwp.htm http://www.jrbham.btinternet.co.uk/tqwp/ Jem |

But Maplin could sell you enough components to make an excellent hi-fi, apart from the speakers. |

Quite so Eiron, perhaps this might give you start; http://gainclone.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=2 Few components very easy to make. Jem |

Do you have shares in them, given it seems to be your answer to every post? FWIW, not everyone is capable or interested in making things, and some may also not want tacky looking home made speakers in their living room. -- *Can atheists get insurance for acts of God? * Dave Plowman London SW To e-mail, change noise into sound. |

Shares Dave, in freely available information? And from very friendly and receptive people, who will not only give encouraging information about cabinets but also the finish and how to achieve it. Why not have a go yourself, you may find it really enjoyable, the satisfaction gained far outweighs the act of merely purchasing. Jem *No one knows what they can do, until they try* |

Giving information is not the same as actually doing it, and most home made speakers look just that. Why do you think no decent manufacturer uses them? -- *Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional * Dave Plowman London SW To e-mail, change noise into sound. |

I keep seeing Eltax in the likes of Richer Sound's online catalogue. Is anyone familiar with the company. Are they any good ? Graham |
