Problems with Goodmans GCE 7340 MP3 car CD/radio
 

I bought this unit on ebay and it seems to work OK except.....

(1) When I insert an MP3 CD made on my PC using Windows Media Player,
it seems to get stuck in a loop displaying "file scan". It won't
recognise the CD.

(2) When I switch the unit off, it forgets the time and all station
presets.

Any advice?

(a) It failed when I used Media Player (which presumably uses XP inbuilt).
So tried Nero and it was fine.

(b) Brilliant! The wires even had little conectors so I could swap them
round.

Two problems solved in a flash. Thanks a lot, Greg.

Don't use XP's inbuilt CD burning s/w, it's crap.

(2) When I switch the unit off, it forgets the time and all station
presets.

Check the power cables. ISTR red=+12v constant( for memory), orange(or
yellow)=+12v switched.
