recording a 3 way conversation in a room - PZM mic?

It's not by chance that personal mics are used for this sort of thing in broadcast. Not, hopefully, drama, but in discussion progs etc it's the best way. The next best way would be three cardiod desk mics as close as possible. And omni or PZM will pick up too much room acoustic and sound dreadful. If one mic could do a good job of this the pros would use it. But it can't. Hire three personals and something like an SQN mixer - won't cost a fortune. -- *42.7% of statistics are made up.
