Arcam CD72
 

Did anyone here upgrade their Arcam CD72 with the ring DAC? (From the
original Burr-Brown 24 bit job.) I'm curious if it made a significant
difference.

I upgraded my Arcam Alpha 8 to an Alpha 9, which included the ring DAC. I
found a large difference in performance better sound stage etc (all usual
hifi terms) . The upgrade also included a better power supply, so I am not
sure how much difference just the ring DAC would make. I was sufficiently
impressed that I now own a DCS (company who designed the Ring DAC) Elgar
plus.
