1 pair KEF XQ3 - unwanted prize draw win

Last month I won a a pair of brand new KEF XQ3 speakers direct from KEF complete with stands as on the KEF web site. http://www.kef.com/xq/images/product...anello_red.htm As I choose to use a 27 year old pair of R105s I do not have any use for the XQ3s. Hmm, I'd be a bit surprised if these new ones weren't superior to those old speakers. I've never heard the XQ3s. Do you prefer the sound of the R105s? Martin |

Doesn't surprise me - I've tried a lot of modern, cheap speakers and they all look very well made for the price with excellent 'technical specs' and appear to offer very good value for money, but while are very good at providing 'audible information' I've yet to find a pair that are 'engaging' and truly musical...... |

Mmm, but those XQ3 speakers did NOT look cheap to me. How much do they retail for? They sure don't look like they're budget speakers. Yeah, I just googled and saw a review saying they're 1500 GBP/pair. I'm willing to bet that at least in the treble, these would whoop the R105s' asses.
