You can route the audio output from your DVD to your hi-fi amp. The scart
will take care of the tv sound, or you could listen to the dvd films through your hi-fi. Peter "Stephen Worth" wrote in message ... I understand that, but this will be used at a place where there will be no TV, which means it will be impossible to select tracks. |

Is there a good reason why you don't want to use a portable-style player with its full display? I bought one for $30, and it displays album number and track number. Rio makes one that actually displays the name of the album and track. Costs more, however. Norm Strong |

I don't know about more modern players but the DVD player that I have can do most things from the front panel. It might be worth looking at a slightly more expensive player with more comprehensive front panel controls. Cheers. Jams. |

I've got an Arcam DV88 DVD player that I use as my main CD player, and you can operate most functions without a television. The only thing you can't do is program track selections (easily - you can do it if you remember in which order to press the buttons!). It certainly plays MP3s, although I can't think why you'd want to if you've got a "Full Size HI FI" system! Andrew |
