POLL - What other HiFi forums do you use?

It could be interesting to see where ng members spend their time on the net -
there are several HiFi forums these days, and the information could give some
useful pointers for where to visit. Maybe we could list the groups we use, with
brief details why and what's useful or bad. Andy

Andy Evans:
www.audioasylum.com - great for DIY and a very good search engine. Very good
posters, and a lot of industry names. American bias, though open to everyone.
www.diyaudio.com - less useful than the asylum but the next best thing, and
very good on speakers - another good DIY site, more global coverage
rec.audio.tubes - gone seriously downhill and can be scanned in 30 seconds
usually. Was very good, but members migrated after continual trolling and
arguments. Bit of a cautionary tale.

I like those forums (fori?) but they are so kludgy to use they get on me
wick.

RAT used to be OK but the last time I looked it was not up to much. Too
US-centric to be of much use to us Brits I feel anyway....

So....

Forums - none. (Should spend a bit of time in the WAD BB but I just can't
seem to get round twit.)

Other ngs - none.

Must admit that I take no interest in such 'forums'. To me they seem like a
redundant mechanism as we already have usenet, email, and webpages. They
also are for some of us less convenient and more expensive to use that
usenet (news).

Slainte,

Jim

Over the years I have found TNT-Audio.com and its associated mailing
list friendly and informative. So much so that I have recently joined
the team of unpaid amateur contributors. I am learning that the actual
work of reviewing pushes on one's first hand knowledge of hifi and all
the variables (e.g. listening room and all associated equipment).

Apart from that (and ukra and ukrav) I have found Audio Asylum a useful
resource to search from time to time, but I can't imagine reading it
daily!

I still occasionally try to get them to say "valve" instead of "tube"... ;-)

'fora' is the plural.

I have spent a lot of time the last four years on the klipsch forums, but
after I sold my klipsch and bought B&W 703's, I didn't seem to be as welcome
anymore. Go figure.

So much for the "horn of plenty".......
