The 3 uses one Hirose 10 pin that gives both outputs and returns. The 3 has a phase reverse switch for one channel. The 3 has either 'stereo' or mono line up tone. (Left leg breaks for ident) Different pan pot knobs. Electronically, they're pretty similar, IIRC. Both are very respectable performers.
