Yes, sod the 'friendship', can we get a supply of cheap amps* going (see
below)...??? :-)

I been wondering - how 'Chinese' are these amps? Designed in Germany and
built in China - kinda makes them a bit
'NAD/Quad/Wharfedale/etc/etc/etc.-like' don't it?

What's the deciding factor - design, components, manufacturing location,
assembly workers' nationalities, perm any 2 out of 3...???

If it's born in a stable, it don't necessarily make it a donkey, does it???

*and Phono Stages..... :-)

Mine dew, see:

http://www.meixingaudio.com/ENGLISH/products/index.htm

for a panoply of thermionic pulchritude....

See in particular:

http://www.meixingaudio.com/ENGLISH/...s/mc998-ar.htm

Where you will read:

"Pure type-A amplifying line, excellent performance in high/medium/low
frequency; suprise, by happy, tireless to hear, the trier's feeling; with
the soundbox of 88db, fully express its high-quality timbre."

:-)

Or:

http://www.meixingaudio.com/ENGLISH/products/mc84-a.htm

Which

Being granted the European electromagnetism qualification certificate
No. EMC2001012¡¡LVD2001016

is where you will read:

"Amplified by the front-grade first and shield-negative dynatron phase
reverse secondly; timbre, beautiful, clear and original; small size, elegant
appearance; applicable to the sound box with 88db or above."

Remind anyone of 60's Japanese sales literature and manuals??

(What goes around comes around....!!! :-)

Now some formatting I can't get rid of.....

Designed in Germany and built in China

Give 'em another ten years and they'll be designed in China and made in
Germany, an impoverished country in the former EU.

Hi Keith,

There's the phono stage I bought too:

http://www.mei-xing.com/doce/pro20.htm

Not including delivery it cost me not much more than a Project phono box SE.
I don't know whether it's as good value as the Dynavox but I like it and
should provide a good base for future inmprovements.

Phil

Well, the Dynavox amps are silly cheap because the eBay sellers are listing
too many of them at once!

£300 'Buy It Now' and half a dozen of 'em available with £213 starting
prices with zero bids ain't ever going to work, except in our favour!! ;-)

(Both me and SN are wanting to hear that Phono Stage, btw....!!! ;-)

Agreed. You aren't the first person to point this out.
