Thought I'd give an update...

I auditioned the Linn Classik movie-di and was very impressed. I'll probably
go for it and, if I can manage too pursuade wifey of the obvious benefits
(!!) I'll have the Linn Katans as the main front speakers, the Linn Trikan
centre speaker and Linn Sizmik bass unit. Don't know yet about rear speakers
(which really do need to be small) but I'm considering the Mirage Omnisat
Micro's.

I'll probably go for the Di unit over the standard movie as I can then
interconnect my TV etc so can enjoy TV surround sound through the Hi-Fi.

I've also had a good price on the Di of £2650 which is £350 off the list
price.

Thanks for all your input on this and especially for putting me right on the
Bose systems.

I'll let you know when I've actually taken the plunge!
